This event is actually held last week. Yes, I know, again, late posting. But anyways, this is a very enjoyable show. The dogs there are superb. Some are very cute and a few looks very intimidating, especially the police dog. I didn’t care to ask what is the name/type of the dog cause it is really intimidating to look at. I can even feel its aura just being around that dog a few feet away.
Anyways, this is the event that showcases, as what the title says, agility and obedience! Agility is where the dogs will be doing a type of obstacle run where the trainer will be doing the guiding. It is a time base run. Each dog will be timed accordingly and if they fail to do an obstable, a time penalty will be given.
Obedience is where the trainer will be asked by the judge to do certain routine, for example, to walk at a small pace and let the dog follow the trainer. Then sudden change of pace and let’s the dog to walk at the same pace. There will be also a sudden change of direction. Also, will be asking the trainer to halt the dog and the trainer to walk away and ask the dog to stay, at standing and sitting position. It’s a very tough routine because the dog has to listen to whatever the trainer says, otherwise, if the dog doesn’t obey, point penalty will be imposed.
It is a very fun event and an eye-opener for me to know such an event exists. Not much of exposure was given for the event. But one thing is for sure, there’s a lot of these dog trainers out there and they have trained their dogs well.
The one dog that caught my eye was the husky. Unbelievably beautiful!
Anyways, without further a due, these are the pictures that I have taken… Enjoy!
